A. We collect data from public listings and also receive information directly from leasing companies. Each Rentometer search lists the number of data points that we use to calculate our results just underneath the meter. Typically this number is in the hundreds. When possible, we restrict our search by neighborhood. When not possible, the search is restricted by distance. 
Q. How do I determine were I should fall in the price range? How does utilities, square footage, bathrooms, year built, lot size, garage and condition all factor in?

A. The Rentometer calculates the low, median, and high rents for the neighborhood in which a unit is located based on the inputs you give it. Your input of a unit's rent, determines where it falls in the range. For example, if a unit has amenities that are highly valued in the region, it should fall towards the upper end of the scale. If such a unit does not fall at the upper end, then it may not be priced correctly.

A. Whenever listing data is available for your search area it will be displayed on the map with a green marker which you can click on to get more information. Units appearing with a blue marker do not have contact information associated with them. Our number of listings is constantly growing but we do not have active listings with contact information in all search areas. Often many of our listing will be found when specifying 50+ units for you search criteria.
If you don't have a specific address, you can perform searches based on zip code by leaving the street address blank.

A. Our data comes from active listings posted online as well as data that is pushed directly to us from landlords. In some cases, these listings are unreasonable or inaccurate. Luckily however, the majority of them are reasonable and accurate, and statistically speaking, unreasonable outliers like the one you've found do not significantly affect our results.
